GROIX ISLAND, BRITTANY, FRANCE (AUGUST 19-23, 2015)
The
International Film Festival of the Islands celebrates its 15th edition
featuring the Philippines. This year they feature a
country composed of more than 7,100 islands and a people where cinema is
undergoing a revival and growing international presence. To be shown are 25 documentary, short and feature films about Filipinos, their
way of life, humor and toughness, and their commitment to address the ills of
Philippines society. The Festival also features a competition of documentary
films from all over the world, panel discussions, concerts, art exhibitions and
debates.

Cablog's painting entitled, "LUSH" is the banner artwork chosen by
the FIFIG Artistic Director and organizing committee to be printed in all of
the Festival's promotional materials. It is also the first time they invited an
artist from the featured island to exhibit his actual paintings during the
Festival and for an artist residency in Groix from August 24 to October 31,
2015, with the aim of creating a fusion
between the traditional cultures of insular Filipinos and Breton people.
