"The rice terraces of Northern Philippines are known for the meticulous and painstaking process it took to build them. When I paint, I adopt the same virtue of patience in my work. I can only hope the impact of the rice terraces as a grand cultural monument would be the same impact I will make in art through my paintings." -JEF CABLOG

Manila Art 2012 (4th Philippine Contemporary Art Fair)
The Manila Art
(Philippine Contemporary Art Fair) , an effusive gathering of galleries showcasing
works by contemporary Filipino artists is always an event I prepare and look
forward to attend every year. As one of the exhibiting artists for three
consecutive years since 2009, I can say that this event gets bigger and better every
year. I am deeply honored and excited to be a part of it again this year. Manila
Art 2012 (4th PCAF) will be held on October 2-6, 2012 at Hall 4, SMX Convention Center,
Pasay City, Philippines. A by-invitation-only Gala night will be held on Oct. 2. The Art Fair will also feature lectures, demos,
workshops, an auction of 40 outstanding works, and fundraising art raffle which
will benefit deserving scholars of BAGO members and A Better Chance Foundation
(ABC).
My works will be displayed in the booth of Galerie Francesca.

Why Every Artist Should Have Their Own Art Blog
I’ve made my
blogspot account for almost 2 years now and haven’t got the chance to write or
even post updates regarding my work or anything
else that interests me. Being introvert, I found it difficult to
write or blog about myself and my work. A few weeks ago, I came upon this blog
called emptyeasel.com through spontaneous searches regarding sites
related to art. It’s a site that features articles almost anything regarding
art, may it be business advice, art tips/ tutorials, art/artist/artist
community website reviews, artist features and etc. One of the articles that I’ve
read is “9 Reasons Why Every Artist Should Have Their Own Art Blog” and was
convinced on how important it is to have a blog and write about yourself and
your work and update your own blog regularly. Here’s an excerpt from the
article:
9 Reasons Why Every Artist Should Have Their
Own Art Blog
Blogs have
really come a long way since they first began as online journals or diaries.
Now they’re often used as a means of self-publishing, and are a very practical
way of getting information online to reach a large number of people.
Many artists
have been successfully blogging for years, whether by writing articles like I
do or publishing images of their own artwork on a daily or weekly basis. In
fact, I’ve found so many
benefits to blogging that if you’re an artist and you don’t have a blog, I
believe you’re missing out.
So take a
moment and consider these 9
reasons why every
artist should have their own art blog. They just might convince you
to start an art blog of your own.
Here are the 9 reasons from the article why artist should have a blog:
1. Having an art blog can increase online art sales
2. Art blogging will help you
grow as an artist.
3. Blogging can show your
personality to the world.
4. You can use your art blog to
explain your art.
5. You can express your own views
through blogging.
6. Blogging will help track your
progress as an artist.
7. You can teach others through
your art blog.
8. With a blog, you can link to
other art blog, like Emptyeasel.
9. A year from now, you’ll wish
you’d started one.
